Haha, nope
Great pizza with a really good tomato sauce and crust, tried both deep dish and cast iron and both were very good.
Capos is the best pizza restaurant I have ever been to. Everything from the spaghetti and meatballs to deep dish to cracker thin crust to Italian Beef Sandwiches are amazing. They are fantastic in every way and I just can't say enough good things. I own a pizza oven, a baking steel, and have traveled all over the world enjoying food, Capos is that good. Freaking amazing.
Some of the best food in the city. Ambiance Ambiance Ambiance. You’ll think you’re in NYC. I wish the bar was bigger because sipping a cocktail or excellent glass of vino here is one of my favorite things in life. Did I mention the excellent food? The excellent staff? The bar? GO!
Everything they make is delicious. Can't miss the award winning deep dish pies made in skillets. The carmelized cheese edges are insanely good.
Well overpriced for what you get. The pizza was average. What let the whole experience down was the service, practically didn't exist.
Capo's is a sibling of Tony's famous Pizza Napoletana a few blocks away. It shares the same dedication (obsession?) to elevating pizza only with deep dish options. Full bar (try the specials). Tony has a knack, too, for cultivating great customer service pros so the whole experience is better.
Best deep dish in Bay Area, beats Blue Line/Little Star, Patxi’s, Zachary’s. Very busy on Saturday night, glad I made a reservation via Yelp, where I also had to pre-order my pizza (study that menu!)We got the Old Chicago pizza in cast iron form. The underlying crust was a little on the pillowy side, but the toppings and sauce were great. The caramelized crust on the edges (special to the cast iron version) was amazing.
Award winning deep dish and cast iron pizzas! Bring a big appetite, the pizzas are huge and filling. Wash it down with a nice bottle of Italian wine and you are good to go.
Delicious food... awesome staff ...great time
Hands down, one of the best pizzazz we had in Italy. Only few tables and usually a line of people, but totally worth it. Must visit place!!!!
Great atmosphere, good pizza, and decent wine. This place is owned by the same people that own Tony's.
Staff is great! Bartender is amazing and always remembers us and we are come from out of town every few months! That's the stuff great places are made of! Did I mention the food is bomb?...it is!
Great deep dish pizza, great ambiance and great service!
Love the Chicago deep dish pizza and meatballs! My new favorite.
Great pizza. Good appetizers. Service was a little slow for drinks like 20 min for a bottle of beer or a glass of wine.
Excellent waffle fries. Best i've had anywhere. Italian Beef Sandwich is pretty good.
I had a really great evening at Capo's. Right from the start the staff was attentive and friendly, we also had a great waiter, who was very knowledgeable and offered lots of suggestions. We ended up having a cast iron, half and half. Half old Chicago and half farmers pie. The crust was thick, and crisp and cheesy. Both pizza's were delicious, also too much for two of us to finish..
Just be aware.. Plan to go here. Make reservations. Even then, they wont actually seat anyone until 5pm, even though the bar opens at 4:30..if you want deep dish, order ahead.
Delicious! Can't temember the name of this but opted for cracker thin as we were only 2 people. Would be great if we could order just a slice of deep dish - would have been too much for 2!
Huge portions, great atmosphere, and Chicagoan approved food. Pizza takes a while (50min) but soooo worth it.
The restaurant itself is full of character, and the staff really engaged, helpful and friendly. However was advised to get a thin crust pizza, which whilst good, was not spectacular. I'm sure if I had gotten a tradition deep pan pizza, I would be far more impressed. Nevertheless, I had the garlic bread starter which was excellent, which was accompanied by a delicious marinara sauce.
Pros:1) Food was pretty goodCons:1) Primary flavor of pizza was of tomato sauce and meatballs. I was personally hoping for more flavors like the cheese or Italian sausageOther:1) I had the Old Chicago stuffed pizza
Food..... service... atmosphere... everything was perfect... it is a north beach must
Amazing! Tony does it again... He is a pizza God!
My parents live in California, and we make a point to visit Capo's every time I go to see them. I expected the pizza to be great, and it still surpassed my expectations. The atmosphere is very unique as well. It really feels like you're in a speakeasy, with brick walls and black and white photos across the restaurant. Something that maybe doesn't get enough credit is their bar. It's fully stocked with tons of drink choices and plenty of great beers on tap. Mr. Gemignani and his staff do an excellent job, night in and night out. I cannot wait to return for another top notch experience, with what is, in my opinion, nothing less than the best Italian food in the Bay Area.
I loved the meatballs. They were Soo tasty.
Everything was amazing. It is worth the wait! But I recommend making a reservation and ordering ahead
Really delicious! I love that they have vegan and meat-eater options, both well executed. They make on their menu the items that are vegan without modifications, but if you look at their menu online you can see allergen menus that show common dietary restrictions and modifications to make other items fit your needs. This was super helpful too!
Best pizza I've ever had, good cider and friendly staff
This was a good place. The waiter was the highlight of the night as he was very attentive and attractive. He knew it..... The pizzas were awesome and the drinks as well. Good spot to do out after dinner as there is plenty of bars in the area. Parking could be tricky.
Good food pizza was good but very salty had the boss pizza
We were visiting San Francisco from Lafayette, LA and we were told that Capo’s was a “must eat at†restaurant. My husband Dave is Italian and could eat Italian food everyday. I decided to try the spaghetti and meatballs because I’m a pickier water than most. This spaghetti was the BEST spaghetti I have ever eaten in my life. Everything that we order was suburb. The atmosphere was cozy, music done beautifully and staff goes above and beyond to make your experience amazing. The owner Tony came by our table and was so gracious to us. This is my new favorite San Fran restaurant.
Delicious Italian food ðŸ ðŸ•with a great bar set up. We dined at Capo’s whist on holiday in San Francisco. The service was amazing and we were taken through the menu with the server. We ordered the Old Chicago stuffed and the Meatball sub. The sub sandwich was enough for the both of us! The portions are big and the food is very rich. The Chicago pizza was amazing! The best pizza I have ever had. Definitely a place to visit.
Delicious food! Nice variety of pizza choices (both in terms of toppings and crust) without being overwhelming. Very kind staff - attentive and friendly. Unpretentious. It's a nice San Francisco restaurant where you can sit and enjoy a quality meal without worrying about impressing the waiter or how much money is in your bank account. Pizzas are big enough to share or take leftovers home!
Great food! Very large portions, it's best to order family style. Our table wasn't ready for our reservation for nearly 20 minutes after the time of our reservation and our serve took a long time to greet us. Our food was also delivered before our drinks...
Amazing pizza and pastas that will fill you up incredibly quick! Make sure to bring a group unless you want leftovers for a week!
Love the Old Chicago pizza, or any of their pizzas in cast-iron style. One of my favorite pizza place.
Great staff and even better food
Went there late after a show about 15 minutes before closing. Place was almost empty, however they seated us and our server was excellent. She didn't rush us, even though we were the last ones there. Had pizza and a salad. Both were incredible! Husband said it was the best pizza he'd ever had. The salad was superb and our server was truly awesome. We'll definitely be back next time we are in SF
Amazing food, excellent service, affordable. Made me feel very welcome for a first time and I am local. Best deep dish pizza ever!
Always amazing here never disappoints when it comes to the food.
Best pizza I have ever eaten. Fantastic service.
Absolutely the BEST pizza in San Francisco ! And the garlic bread is amazing...Youve gotta go here just for that incredible garlic bread . Everything was great.
We had high hopes after reading the reviews!Unfortunately, our deep dish pizza was primarily sauce and crust. We couldn’t taste any of the other flavors in the pie. Literally, the only thing we could taste was sauce. Really disappointing!!
My boyfriend and I visited in October from out of town for a large 3 day music festival and drove an hour into SF the first night to check out the city and get something to eat/drink. We tried 3 different places before we stumbled upon this place and went in and sat at the bar. D was our server/bartender and he chatted with us a lot about drinks and music and the local places to check out. He was super friendly and genuine and professional. Had us try some of his suggestions and even sent us over to another place to hang/check out after we finished up here. It was cool to talk to him and get genuine real person responses rather than someone phishing for tips. Really cool guy. Really good food. Thanks D for making our first night in town a good one, we will definitely stop back in next time we are in California!
Well, we over did it! We had a deep dish which was incredible. Since the three of us thought that wouldn't be enough, we ordered lasagna, another pasta dish, and an app. Needless to say, we had some to-go boxes. It's a very small place so reservations are a must. Enjoy!
We ordered the Carbonara Pasta (based on multiple great reviews) and the spicy salami pizza. Talk about delicious! The Carbonara was perfect. Not too much sauce, perfect amount of meat, fresh pasta, topped with fresh Parmesan. The spicy salami pizza reminded us of Forcella Pizza in NYC -- and that place was good!! The margarita sauce had a nice kick to it. It was also pretty tangy. The pizza was covered in thin slices of salami so it wasn't too overpowering. Regarding service, all the employees were very friendly, our waiter was great and within no time our meals were being served to us.
This place smells soooo good!! The Pizza is amazing, the beer selection is good. We tried 2 different Pizzas and both were good. I preferred the Cast Iron style pizza myself. We also had the Artichoke Dip, Meatballs, and Quattro Forni. The Quattro Forni is awesome, you should pre-order it if you plan to go as they only make like 10 a day.
No traditional Italian food but unique dishes and great deep dish pizza...
Best pizza outside of Chicago, Chef Tony earned those Michelin stars!
